About this rose

About Catherine Hershey™

Catherine Hershey™ Potted Rose Bush

Rosa ‘Catherine Hershey™’ – Bred by Brad Jalbert (Select Roses, Canada)

Introduced in 2021 by Brad Jalbert, the Catherine Hershey™ Rose is as resilient as it is beautiful — a floribunda that celebrates the legacy of a woman whose name embodies grace, strength, and warmth. Originally known as Peach Perfection, this rose was renamed in honor of Catherine Hershey when the Hershey Foundation chose it to represent her enduring legacy.

The blooms are lavish and fully double, opening in waves of soft, clear peach that shift in tone as temperatures cool — deepening into warm, sunset shades by late summer. Disease-free and remarkably hardy, this rose has been proven through years of testing to thrive in diverse climates with impeccable foliage, easy-care growth, and nonstop flowering. Its soft, fruity fragrance with hints of lemon and spice adds the perfect finishing touch.

Whether planted as a hedge, showcased in a border, or enjoyed in a vase, Catherine Hershey™ is a rose that gives generously from spring through frost.

✨ Why We Love It

Catherine Hershey™ is a rose that blends beauty with resilience — refined yet strong, soft yet steadfast. Its luminous peach blooms, gentle fragrance, and dependable nature make it one of Brad Jalbert’s most beloved introductions. From the first flush of spring to the final days of autumn, this rose honors its namesake’s legacy with grace, generosity, and timeless charm.

Before planting

Keep your rose in its pot in a sunny spot and water it well while you prepare the bed. Choose a place with at least six hours of sun and soil that drains well. Water the pot thoroughly an hour before planting.

Planting your potted rose

Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot and about as deep. Ease the rose out, loosen any circling roots and set it so the top of the root ball sits level with the ground. Backfill with garden soil mixed with compost, firm gently and water deeply.

First season watering and care

Water deeply two to three times a week through the first season, more often in hot weather, letting the top inch of soil dry between waterings. Mulch keeps the roots cool. Start feeding once new growth appears, and remove spent blooms to keep the flowers coming.

I recently bought their 1 gallon and I was so happy to receive a well sized rose with seven stems! They did a really good job growing these as the stems were pretty thick.
