About this rose

About Classic Woman™

About Classic Woman™ Bare Root Rose Bush

Rosa 'Meigroupy' PP 17,970 Classic Woman™

The Classic Woman™ hybrid tea rose, a distinguished member of the Romantica® series from the esteemed House of Meilland®, presents a vision of creamy white elegance. Its buds offer a delicate hint of pink along the edges, gradually unfurling to reveal exquisite, 5-inch blooms. These captivating flowers emit a subtle, yet pleasing, classic rose fragrance that adds to their overall charm.

Renowned for its exceptional repeat blooming, the Classic Woman™ ensures a continuous display of its pristine flowers throughout the growing season. This vigorous variety demonstrates impressive heat tolerance and exhibits strong resistance to common rose diseases, making it a reliable and relatively low-maintenance choice for gardeners. Its sturdy stems and long-lasting blooms also make it an excellent option for cut flower arrangements, highly favored by floral designers for crafting elegant bouquets.

Often likened to a cream-colored iteration of the beloved Yves Piaget® rose, Classic Woman™ evokes a nostalgic sentiment, reminiscent of the cherished roses found in a traditional grandmother's garden. This old-fashioned appeal, combined with its modern vigor and disease resistance, positions Classic Woman™ as a truly timeless beauty, perfectly suited for both classic and contemporary landscapes. Its reliable performance and exquisite floral display make it a standout selection for any rose enthusiast seeking enduring elegance and delightful fragrance.

Preparing or storing before planting

Never allow your bare root roses to dry out. Open the box as soon as your rose arrives and soak the roots in clean water for at least 24 hours, and up to 48 hours if you can’t plant straight away. Don’t cut the roots: they are the plant’s energy reserve.

Planting instructions

Once your bare roots have soaked in water for at least 24 hours, plant immediately in a container or in the ground. Make sure to bury the crown of the plant 2 to 3 inches below the soil level.

First season watering and care

Watering your bare root rose the first year is vital while your rose is establishing. We recommend a 2 to 3 inch layer of mulch, a drip line and careful monitoring.
