About City of Windsor

About City of Windsor Potted Rose Bush

Rosa ‘KORmiach’ — City of Windsor
🌹 A Kordes Hybrid Tea Rose

City of Windsor (cultivar ‘KORmiach’) is a bold and regal hybrid tea introduced by Kordes in 1991. Known for its rich crimson-red color and classic high-centered bloom form, this rose brings a striking, sophisticated presence to the garden. Each flower begins with a cup-shaped form and gradually opens into a large, velvety, fully double bloom—perfect for cutting and displaying indoors.

This variety is praised for its strong fragrance, vigorous growth, and dependable disease resistance, making it a standout choice for gardeners who want both beauty and performance. With long, elegant stems and a steady stream of repeat blooms from spring through frost, City of Windsor shines as both a landscape feature and a cutting-garden essential.

Before planting

Keep your rose in its pot in a sunny spot and water it well while you prepare the bed. Choose a place with at least six hours of sun and soil that drains well. Water the pot thoroughly an hour before planting.

Planting your potted rose

Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot and about as deep. Ease the rose out, loosen any circling roots and set it so the top of the root ball sits level with the ground. Backfill with garden soil mixed with compost, firm gently and water deeply.

First season watering and care

Water deeply two to three times a week through the first season, more often in hot weather, letting the top inch of soil dry between waterings. Mulch keeps the roots cool. Start feeding once new growth appears, and remove spent blooms to keep the flowers coming.

I recently bought their 1 gallon and I was so happy to receive a well sized rose with seven stems! They did a really good job growing these as the stems were pretty thick.
