Rosa ‘MEImodac’ — Royal Bonica®
🌹 A modern Meilland shrub rose with regal presence and nonstop bloom power
Royal Bonica® is a richly colored evolution of the beloved Bonica® rose—bringing deeper pink blooms, fuller flower form, and even stronger garden performance. With its abundant clusters of warm, rose-pink blooms and exceptional repeat flowering, this shrub rose delivers a season-long display that feels lush, effortless, and undeniably elegant. Hardy, vigorous, and beautifully rounded, Royal Bonica® shines in borders, hedges, mass plantings, or as a standout landscape feature.
🎨 Color: Deep rose-pink blooms with a refined, uniform tone
🌸 Bloom Form: Semi-double to double, cupped flowers produced in large, showy clusters
📏 Bloom Size: Approximately 2.5–3″ across
🔁 Flowering: Exceptional repeat bloomer — flush after flush from late spring through frost
🌼 Fragrance: Light, fresh scent
🌿 Foliage: Abundant, glossy, dark green leaves that offer excellent contrast and stay clean through the season
🌱 Growth Habit: Bushy, rounded, and vigorous — ideal for landscape use
↕️ Height: About 3–4 ft
↔️ Width: Approximately 3 ft
☀️ Light Requirements: Thrives in full sun
🌡️ Hardiness: Extremely adaptable; reliable in a wide range of climates and conditions
💪 Disease Resistance: Excellent — clean, healthy foliage with minimal intervention
🌼 Best Uses:
Foundation or border planting
Mass planting for landscape impact
Informal hedging
Cottage and estate-style gardens
Mixed shrub and perennial borders
🌸 Maintenance Style: Very low maintenance — a perfect choice for gardeners seeking beauty with ease
Royal Bonica™ is everything we adore in a landscape shrub rose—tough, generous, and effortlessly beautiful. Its deep pink blooms bring richer color than classic Bonica®, while its vigorous habit and non-stop clusters guarantee a season filled with soft, elegant color. It’s a rose that works hard yet looks refined in any setting.
Planting Site: Full sun with well-draining soil
Spacing: Plant 3 ft apart for full, lush coverage
Watering: Maintain even moisture, especially while establishing
Pruning: Light spring pruning to maintain shape; remove old wood as needed
Encouraging Blooms: Deadheading optional — Royal Bonica™ reblooms beautifully even with minimal care
Preparing or storing before planting
Never allow your bare root roses to dry out. Open the box as soon as your rose arrives and soak the roots in clean water for at least 24 hours, and up to 48 hours if you can’t plant straight away. Don’t cut the roots: they are the plant’s energy reserve.
Planting instructions
Once your bare roots have soaked in water for at least 24 hours, plant immediately in a container or in the ground. Make sure to bury the crown of the plant 2 to 3 inches below the soil level.
First season watering and care
Watering your bare root rose the first year is vital while your rose is establishing. We recommend a 2 to 3 inch layer of mulch, a drip line and careful monitoring.

The bare root roses arrived well packaged and moist. You can see new growth on the canes, an indication that the rose is waking up. The bare roots have massive long anchor roots, some more than 2 feet long.Parfuma® Earth Angel™ Bare Root
